Meet the hypothetical tree: Say you have a beautiful, mature tree in your backyard. It stands approximately 80 feet tall and has branches ½ way up that appear to be 12-15 inches in diameter near the trunk, and then grow out from the trunk by 15-20 feet. Each.

This tree is planted about 4 feet from a fence shared with a neighboring property. And the trunk stands about 6 feet away from a detached garage. Branches from the tree grow out and give shade to the neighbors on the other side of the fence, and also throw shade over the garage.

This mature and beloved tree hasn’t had any pruning or maintenance done in more than 8 years.

The Preventive Maintenance Care

An estimate shares that a $1200 – $1500 pruning service will thin 3-5 large branches from the top and allow for better airflow and circulation. Helpful in the storms.

Easily, this storm’s damage is well over the $1500 preventive maintenance care.

Depending on the trees’ needs and health, and on your budget, an evergreen may be pruned one year, and then a year later (or even two years later) a deciduous tree (one that loses its leaves annually) may need our care and attention.
